As of January, 2009, dotOrganize will no longer be active.
This site will remain live (thank you Radical Designs!), because it's still got some great resources, but the time has come to close our doors.
When dotOrganize was founded in mid-2005, our goal was to infuse the
grassroots organizing sector with more information and options to
support their online organizing efforts.
We published the ground
breaking report, Online Organizing: from Struggle to Strategy, initiated the Organizer's Toolcrib, and facilitated the much anticipated technical integration of Salesforce.com and Democracy in Action.
In the coming years, our hope is that technology capacity building for
underfunded nonprofits will continue to grow and thrive. We also hope
that organizers will cultivate innovative ways to use technology to
strenghten on-the-ground relationships and real communities. As we've
always said:
Online organizing creates wide networks.
Offline organizing creates deep relationships.
When integrated successfully, you've got the killer app for social change. Rock on.
A
big, hearty thanks to all the wonderful people who supported and
collaborated with us during this project! We look forward to more
adventures with you!
Peace out,
Leda Dederich & Tate Hausman
